Cream Cheese Frosting
This Cream Cheese Frosting recipe is ONLY five ingredients. It is quick, easy, and so delectable. This recipe provides enough frosting for a two layer 8" cake, 24 regular sized cupcakes, or 16 jumbo cupcakes.

- 1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
- 8 ounces cream cheese brick form
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups powdered sugar
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the softened butter and cream cheese until it is a smooth consistency. (A hand-held electric mixer works just fine.)
Next, add in the vanilla extract and salt.
With the mixer on a low speed, gradually add in the powdered sugar a little bit at a time until it is completely incorporated.
Use the frosting to decorate cupcakes or cake once they are fully cooled.
This recipe creates a solid frosting that holds it shape, perfect for decorating. If the frosting becomes too thick for your dessert, simply add a splash of milk to thin it.
