Homemade Cranberry Sauce
This scrumptious homemade cranberry sauce is so easy to make and is the perfect accompaniment to a holiday dish. I even love to put it on top of Greek yogurt or make other recipes with it. Cranberry sauce is so versatile and doesn't have to be a seasonal recipe!
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 15 minutes mins
Total Time 20 minutes mins
- 1 12-oz. package fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon cinamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- orange zest of one orange
First, rinse the cranberries in a colander and pick out any bruised or bad ones.
Next, put the water and sugar in a medium saucepan on high heat and bring to a boil.
Stir to dissolve the sugar.
Once the water is brought to a boil add in the cranberries, orange juice, and spices.
Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for about ten minutes so that the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
Add in the orange zest then set the sauce aside to cool.
